world of my own

What is it about the holidays?

This year I’m definitely all out with the preparation for the Eid. I think spending a good one month away from home, did me some good. Upon returning home, I crave everything M’sian and in the process I bought materials for 3 baju kurung (my normal practise is :1 is already too much!), bought too many shoes (I only have 1 pair of shoes now and a pair of croc) (3 pairs for raya uhuh…) and I went back to Kampung (my dad’s side, going to my mom’s side for the actual raya event).

Although the shopping did suprised me (well I guess I did discovered new things about myself through the exchange prog)…agreeing to balik my dad’s kampung is really something I would have not done in previous years. I have always take for granted family’s relation. I went to visit kubur maktok..and I guess that was when I realized how important the trip was (I guess older doesn’t make you wiser..sigh**). Raya is more than kuih and baju raya, it’s more of the time of remembering the old and the past…and cherish the present.

Well, Happy Eid to everyone.

I was supposed to sleep like 2 hours ago.

Anyway, I decided to start fresh and deleted my previous blogs. Give it a new bluish look, in hoping it will mark a new start. If it is possible to delete the entries of your lives then life would have been more manageable…haha..you wish.

We had a long conversation yesterday night…a bunch of us. It’s hard to imagine that we have actually known each other for 18 good years. And what’s more interesting, after those amazing years we still have a lot to ramble about.

I watched ‘The Kite Runner’ just a while ago and was mesmerized by it. The boy had recited a beautiful poem by Rumi.

If we come to sleep

we are His drowsy ones

And if we come to wake

we are in His hands

If we come to weeping

we are His cloud full of raindrops

And if we come to laughing

we are His lightning in that moment

If we come to anger & battle

it is the reflection of His wrath

And if we come to peace & pardon

it is the reflection of His love

Who are we in this complicated world?
